Sue's Story
Life
After graduating from High School, I continued my studies at Jackson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Upon graduation, I joined the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps and served 21 years. While still on active duty, I acquired my bachelors degree in nursing and a Master of Science degree in Education. Following my Navy retirement in 1995, I taught nursing school at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. In 2005, I co-authored a book, "Ruff's War: A Navy Nurse on the Frontline in Ira...Expand for more
q," about Commander Cheryl Ruff's experience moving into Iraq directly behind the Marines at the initial stage of the war in March 2003. I am still "happily single" and enjoy traveling, playing golf, and being involved in the various activities associated with the Navy Nurse Corps Association (Editor of the NNCA News, Co-coorinator of Reunion 2004, former President of the Southern Mid-Atlantic Chapter, current board member). God Bless America and please keep supporting our troops!
